The Frank Ramish Collection is a series of digital copies of a group of paintings created by my grandfather during the 1960s. His work consists of mostly acrylic and some watercolor pieces. His favorite subject was roses. He also enjoyed painting landscapes, birds and animals.
Frank Ramish was born in Eastern Europe, most probably in the Bavarian Mountain Region in what is now the Czech Republic. In the early 1900s, at the age of 16, Frank Ramish arrived by passenger vessel in New York City.
During the sunset years of his life, he took up painting and used notepaper and canvas as his usual medium. He created several paintings for my mother and kept most of his work until his death. My Aunt Doris stored his paintings in her attic for over 30 years. We acquired half of his collection in 2005 from my cousin, Ed.
Specific pieces in the Frank Ramish Collection are now available to you on note cards and full-scale reproductions on fine paper for matting and framing. Write or email for prices.
